biographies:
Boru's Ghost began in late 1999 with founding members, Russell
Pierce and John McGaha. Soon after, Audra Blankenship joined
the crew. Van Williams began playing with BG in 2001. Eric
Herndon was officially added as a full time member of The Ghost
in September of 2006. Boru's Ghost would be nothing without
the talents and other contributions of all its members. Each of
the members add something unique and vitally important to the
equation.

The band was founded by guitarist and songwriter Russell
Pierce in the Fall of 1999. He has been the driving force and
visionary behind the band and its music. He is known as “the
boss”, as well as other names that will not be mentioned here.

John McGaha, adeptly playing fiddle, hammered dulcimer,
bouzouki, vocals and quite frankly any thing else he can get his
hands on, is the soul of the music. John has contributed many
of his original compositions to the effort and writes much of the
band’s music.

Audra Blankenship lends her penny whistles and a hauntingly
beautiful voice to the music. She is one of the key ingredients to
the uniqueness of the music and it’s sometimes hypnotic effect
on crowds. Audra doubles as the bands manager and often
finds herself keeping the boys in line, which can in itself be a full
time job.

Van Williams is the veritable back bone of Boru’s Ghost with his
aggressive percussion style and vocals. He has been a long
time and invaluable member. Doubling as the bands technical
manager, he is the hardest working man a band could ask for.

Eric Herndon is the very capable bass player for the band. His
classical guitar playing and general musicianship allow him
great skill on the bass and rounds out the Boru’s Ghost sound.
