Boru's Ghost was founded in the Fall of 1999 by guitarist Russell Pierce and multi-instrumentalist John McGaha. Vocalist and Penny whistle player, Audra Blankenship joined shortly thereafter. Eric Herndon added his bass-playing to the band in 2006. Dustin Cooper and Leah Kenton-McGaha joined the band full time in early 2009 as percussionists and have quickly added their talents wih other instruments as well. The bands ideal is to create something different and uniquely personal for those involved--listeners and band members alike.

Boru's Ghost has consistently entertained its audiences since its conception. The members of Boru's Ghost enjoy sharing their passion for the Celtic Heritage and its music and that love can be clearly seen during performances by this group. BG can be found performing from coffee houses and pubs to concerts and Celtic Festivals. The band is also proud to be included on the State of Oklahoma Touring Artist Roster and to be founding members of the Oklahoma Celtic Heritage Association.

Exiles of Erin
When the full band of Boru's Ghost can't all get together for a show, 2-4 members of the band will instead perform a varied list of music under the name "Exiles of Erin". Look for them at your favorite pub!

John McGaha adeptly plays fiddle, hammered dulcimer, bouzouki and quite frankly any thing else he can get his hands on. He also adds his excellent singing to the mix. John and Russell write much of the band's original music together.
